  • Denver, CO

ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Colorado native Jamie Wagner, now a PhD economist at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, has offered to help Colorado teachers explore the simmering issue of health care in the US. Her intention is to introduce teachers to health economics. Teachers will get a brief introduction into the current U.S. health care system including the economics found in the Affordable Care Act.  Throughout the workshop, interactive lessons will be used to demonstrate various topics in health economics including Federal Budget decisions, allocation of scarce resources and adverse selection.  Participants will leave with several lessons to bring lively discussions about health economics into their classrooms.
