The Kay Schmidt Scholarship will provide $1,000.00 cash scholarship (in the form of a personal check) to one Colorado high school junior or senior who has taken a high school economics class. The selected student’s sponsoring teacher will receive an appreciation of $250.
The recipient of this scholarship will be selected based on the applicant’s ability to construct a personalized essay that will be judged by a committee of economic and business professionals. Essays with a compelling personal voice and that demonstrate insight into an economic way of thinking have the greatest chance of selection. Spelling and grammar matter. The essay must respond to the prompt below and incorporate one or more of three basic economic principles.
