Poverty, Development and Economic Freedom
What is the best way for countries to chart a path to prosperity? This class discusses the importance of economic freedom—personal choice, market freedom, definition and protection of individual and business property rights. Teachers will study the Economic Freedom of the World Index and how it predicts the wealth of nations.

 

  • Grade Level: 4th -12th Grade Business, Math, Consumer Studies, Economics and Social Studies

  • Date: April 18, 2009*

  • Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Location: Daniels Fund, Denver

  • Fee: $40 per seminar

  • Optional CU Credit Fee:  $25 per CU at Colorado Springs graduate credit hour. Payable to CU online. Full day attendance is required to receive credit.

  • Faculty: Professor James Gwartney, Ph.D., Florida State University and Professor John Brock, Ph.D., CU at Colorado Springs
