For K-12 Business, Consumer Studies, Economics and Social Studies Teachers

Economics for Educators (Econ 501)

This class explores the operation of markets, the role of government systems, and is the first in a sequence of courses for the Certificate in Economic Education. Includes microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts relevant to K-12 economic educators and students.

  • Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Location: Daniels Fund, Denver

  • Class Fee: $120

  • Optional Credit Fee: 3 CU grad. sem. credit hrs., $150

  • Faculty: Dale DeBoer, Ph.D., Professor, CU at Colorado Springs; and Michael Lucchesi, Assistant Professor, U.S. Air Force Academy

  • Includes: College Level Economics Textbook, Virtual Economics V.3. CD-Rom, plus one of the following NCEE publications: Capstone (2 Volume Set), Focus Middle School, or Focus: Economics K-2 or 3-5, and lunches.

  • Certificate Program: Required class for both the Secondary and Elementary Economic Education Certificate.
