For Elementary 3-5 Teachers

Mini-Society Econ 603.2:
Civics, Economics & Entrepreneurship

Experience-based economics and entrepreneurship program in which students design and develop their own society complete with flag, currency, government, jobs and businesses. Curriculum integrates Colorado Model Content Standards in math, economics, civics, and language arts - and incorporates character education, cooperative learning, government, law, ethics, and citizenship. Students develop problem-solving and economic reasoning abilities - skills rarely taught elsewhere.

  • Location: Front Range Community College, Westminster

  • Class Fee: $90

  • Optional Credit Fee: 2 CU grad. sem. credit hrs., $100

  • Faculty: John Brock, Ph.D., Professor, CU at Colorado Springs; and Phyllis Bye, Certified Mini-Society Instructor

  • Includes: Syllabus, supplemental curriculum unit, craft kit ($50 value), concept books, and lunches.

  • Certificate Program: Required class for Elementary Economic Education Certificate.
